Museo cimeli storici
Museum | San Daniele Del Friuli | Friuli-Venezia Giulia | Italy
The "Museo Cimeli Storici" in San Daniele del Friuli is an important museum dedicated to the preservation and presentation of military memorabilia. It is located in the so-called "Casa del Trecento", a medieval building that is the only one remaining in San Daniele del Friuli and now serves as the headquarters of the local Alpini group.
The exhibition spans three floors and offers a comprehensive insight into the military history of the region. On the first floor, there are flags of various weapons associations as well as numerous photos of groups and special events. The second floor houses documents, posters, postcards, flags, and reproductions of images related to the history of the Alpini and the Austrian troops in World War I. The top floor features equipment of mountain troops, weapons and ammunition from both world wars, as well as uniforms of soldiers, non-commissioned officers, and officers from various historical periods. Of particular interest is the reconstruction of daily life in the barracks or in the field.
A visit to the museum allows visitors to discover the history and heritage of the mountain troops and alpine traditions, and to develop a deeper understanding of the military past of the region.
